Gold Chains |
Gold Chains, aka 29-year-old ex-computer programmer Topher LaFata, is
ostensibly a mixture of ‘the big radio sound, the underground punk
rock, the back alley hip-hop and the after-hours dance party’. Although
this white rapper could be perceived as an ironic and tongue in cheek
take on dance culture, he assures us he is deadly serious about his intent.
New LP ‘Young Miss America’ captures the mood of the times
and crosses over racial and social boundaries in a way similar to fellow
Bay Area resident Mr. Sly Stone, and aims to destroy the system through
the good old adage of partying hard. Which is a pretty familiar manifesto
to most of us Brightonians, sod Situationism and let’s get mashed.
8-bit construction set is a Chicago based sample and decks meddlers, sounds
intriguing!
